I am a strong believer of the expression "well-prepared battle is a battle half won". Right now I am still not familiar with this type of test. So here I'll write about the IELTS based on the references that I have read and watched, to better prepare myself for the upcoming test.

Speaking
With a native speaker interviewer comprised of three parts:
Part 1: Question about interviewee
Part 2: Monologue on a certain topic, given a card with as the prompt
Part 3: Interview questions based on the general topic on part 2
So I have finished my IELTS test. I'll write what I experienced and feels.
I got in the test place around seven in the morning. I was instructed to prepare my id (I use passport), the writing tools, and put all of my other belongings (hand phone, wallets, books, etc) into my bag and leave the bag at the front office.
So what I was allowed to bring to the examination room are pencil, pen, eraser, a drink in a transparent bottle. I also bring my jacket, because I know that I am not accustomed to a cool environment, and I have estimated that the room will have a full blown Air Conditioner (and I was right).
After leaving the bag to the front office, I got my photo and fingerprint taken. Then I was escorted into the examination room.
After entering the examination room, there is no leaving the room for anything until the reading or writing task. I was waiting for a bit around 40 minutes till the examination started. Before the exams, I have felt the urges to go to the toilet because of the cool room. But I can't because it still was not allowed until reading task.
After the writing task, I was scheduled for speaking test. My schedule is quite late at 5:30. So I wait for my turn in the study room and read, surf the web, watch videos while waiting.
Next the speaking test, it is conducted one on one with a native speaker. My examiner was quite friendly and straightforward. I was asked about where I work, did I enjoy my work, and some little bits of information regarding it for the first task. The second task I was asked to do a monologue on a topic, my topic was 'what do I ever made a handcrafted object for my family or friends'. Then for the next task I was asked about general things which are connected with what I talked about in the last task.
